Performance & Cache

uLanding is designed to serve marketing sites quickly. Most performance wins come from optimized images, sensible animation settings, and clearing caches after big changes.

What affects speed

Area Impact What to do
Images Highest Compress images; prefer WebP/JPG for photos, SVG for logos
Videos High Prefer YouTube/Vimeo embeds over large self-hosted uploads
Animations Medium Use Customizer → General → Animation level = Reduced or None
Page Builder sections Medium Avoid stacking dozens of heavy sections on one page
Fonts Low–medium Stick to one heading + one body font
Custom scripts Variable Keep Custom Code (header/footer scripts) minimal

Open Themes → Customizer → General:

Setting Faster choice Notes
Animation level Reduced or None Disables or softens motion across the site
Shadow style Soft / None Heavier shadows cost little, but keep UI clean
Site width Reasonable max width Extremely wide hero images still need compression

There is no separate “Performance” switch — animation level is the main built-in control.

How caching works in uLanding

uLanding caches theme and settings data so public pages do not rebuild everything on every request. Cached items include:

  • Active theme and global theme settings
  • Theme Customizer settings
  • Generated theme CSS
  • Footer / blog sidebar widget trees
  • Enabled addon / widget registries

Caches are refreshed automatically when you save the Customizer, activate a theme, or import a demo.

How to clear cache

From the admin (preferred)

  1. Save the Theme Customizer again, or
  2. Re-activate the current theme, or
  3. Use Ultimate SMS system cache / optimize tools if available on your install.

From the server (SSH)

php artisan optimize:clear

If a specific theme stylesheet still looks outdated after a Customizer change, clear once more and hard-refresh the browser (Cmd+Shift+R / Ctrl+Shift+R).

Note CDN or host-level page caches (Cloudflare, cPanel cache, nginx FastCGI cache) sit outside uLanding. Purge those separately after publishing major design changes.

Image & media best practices

  • Keep hero images under ~300–400 KB when possible.
  • Page Builder image uploads are capped at 2 MB; videos at 50 MB.
  • Use the media uploader’s Replace / Remove controls instead of leaving unused heavy files referenced.
  • Prefer SVG for logos and icon graphics (supported by the media uploader).

See Media & Image Upload.
